Listening to Subtle Messages from Within

Our bodies are continuously vocalizing it's needs, wants and desires.  It has many ways of alerting us to it's needs.  It tells us when we are hungry, thirsty, need to rest, etc.  We are all familiar with these messages, but what are some other ways our body talks to us?
Oftentimes we receive messages from within that we aren't familiar with so we tend to ignore them.  Pain/discomfort is one that unless it is intense, we seem to overlook or ignore.  But the location and intensitiy of the pain is our bodies way of telling us something isn't right and we should take note.
